In the center of Valle del Cauca, 60 kilometers north of Cali and 5 kilometers east of Sonso, is “Pichichí”, an extension founded by pre-Columbian Indians, which means “small downpour”.
Don Modesto Cabal Galindo, visionary and passionate about the sugar industry, created the Guacharacal sugar mill and participated in the founding of the Providencia sugar mill. He then acquired the Pichichí hacienda, owned by former president Antonio Sanclemente.
After his death, his legacy continued with the creation of Pichichí S.A. in April 1941. With more than eight decades of progress, Ingenio Pichichí has stood out as one of the most prominent in the region and in the national sugar industry.
We produce and market products derived from sugarcane, meeting the quality expectations of domestic and foreign customers, generating value for shareholders, benefiting our employees and contributing responsibly to the community for a healthy environment.
To be recognized as an agribusiness company that generates value to its stakeholders through operational excellence, commitment to social development, environmental responsibility and financial profitability.
Ingenio Pichichí is proud to have been part of Procaña’s 50th anniversary congress. The Colombian Association of Sugarcane Producers and Suppliers has led social responsibility programs that have had a positive impact on the profitability and sustainability of the sugarcane agroindustrial sector.
Together with Tecnicaña, we celebrate one of the most awaited events by the Sugar Cane Agroindustrial Sector in Colombia. Tecnicaña 4.0 is a space that brings together the Agroindustry with the aim of facilitating the transfer of knowledge, fostering debate and reflecting on the future and projections of the sugar sector.
In collaboration with Asocaña, the Colombian Sugarcane Growers Association, we seek to strengthen relations with the communities in our areas of influence. We cultivate opportunities for growth in the region by means of workshops that include medical assistance, recreation and healthy recreation.
Through a joint effort with Asocaña, we promote the economic development of the region, strengthening small and medium-sized rural enterprises, providing seed capital, formal training and the necessary tools to facilitate the growth of their businesses.
We are proud to actively participate in events of historical significance for our neighboring municipalities, such as the Buga fair. Event in which we reaffirm our commitment to the growth and development of the community we influence.
